Youth and Sunday School

In 2014, the Sunday school of the First Congregational Church of Yarmouth implemented the “One Room School House” bible-based curriculum.  This core style of teaching is utilized year round.  As a group, younger children are mentored and taught bible lessons by our two qualified and experienced adult Sunday school teachers.  All age groups are excited by our Sunday School Computer Lab.

Our “One Room School House” gathers at the beginning of worship service (10:00 a.m.) and closes in prayer approximately 15 minutes following worship.

In addition, our older youth participate in the teaching process.  Each teen teacher has participated in, and graduated from, our three-day confirmation program.  Our approach creates exciting learning opportunities for everyone involved.

We have also utilized the J.A.M. (Jesus and Me) theme to provide our youth with the appropriate tools necessary to have an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ.  Children are taught and encouraged to search scripture for answers to everyday questions and are excited to learn how friends of Jesus lived their lives.  The children are also encouraged and shown how to pray, for themselves and others.
